TP-Link Archer C7 V3 - OpenWRT Build R16290 5.4 Kernel Linksys EA8500 - OpenWRT IPQ806x Trunk R16375 5.4 Kernel Netgear Nighthawk R7000 - DD-WRT Build R46220 If you have Wireless-G - stick with 13525 and leave it alone. Newer builds have not had much, if any, fixes for wireless-G stuff.Īll the newer ones were concentrating on supporting new unitsĪnd having better support for wireless-n / supporting dual radios, etc. If you only have Wireless-G - stick with 13525. There were actually some problems with the Broadcom versions I believe.įor RaLink routers, that build should be OK to test.Īs far as the builds, it also depends if you have Wireless-N. WAY too early to get good test results from that build. Having problems with port forwarding? Check out Port Forward Troubleshooting for more info.ġ4815 seems to be the last available one. Wireless N Config | Linking Routers | DD-WRT Wiki | DD-WRT Builds | Peacock - Broadcom FAQ Just use the FTP link in my signature to get other builds. Where do you recommend actually getting the DD-WRT firmwares? I see some people running around with high numbered ones that I can't find in the router database.īelieve it or not, I used google. But maybe I am just unique because I don't follow the recommendation. I guess I am one of the "low activity" users as I currently get the highest numbered one in there regardless of the recommendation. I'm not aware of anything particularly bad with 14311 but not many people use it because 'low activity' users tend to just get the routerdb's recommended version and 'high activity' users tend to test whatever the latest build is and fall back to the last build that was stable for them if the latest isn't stable. It's been recommended for half a year and has been proven to be a solid build. Whatġ3525 is the build to use if you want a build you can trust. If 14311 gives the same feeling, perfect. Pretty up to date.įor some reason I have bias for firmware from It is not set as recommended though because site maintenance is lagging behind for some reason. WRT54GL currently has 14311 as the newest in the database. Mine did not want to work right until Linksys Tech Support gave me a Beta Firmware(not on their site). As you can see my WRT350N is happily using it and those are very picky units. It is actually a slight improvement in routing over 13064 as the Broadcom wireless glitch has been solved. I have heard that 14311 is fairly stable and has the improvements of the earlier builds in it but I have also seen a few people saying their unit bricked. Would be fine to hear opinions on 14311 you use. Might be a little old, but should be stable and solid Sticky says 13525,Īt least for the device I have (Linksys wrt54gl).

Linksys WRT54G2v1 x1 DD-WRT v24-preSP2 14311-Not In UseĬisco Catalyst 3548 Enterprise x1 Cisco IOS-Not In UseĪll is about best latest version. Linksys WRT350Nv1 x1 DD-WRT v24-preSP2 14311-Not In Use

The only change that needs to be done is the recommendation and newest build to be changed to 14311. (not interested in G spec models)īuild 13064 is not really that bad.

We had a discussion a couple months ago that involved revising the procedure before posting builds onto the DB and it seemed to have been agreed upon but then communication went dead and nothing has come of it. The inner workings of the company are a mystery to all.
